At Budapest British International Academy, we believe that student voice matters at every stage of education. That’s why we proudly run two active Student Councils — one for our Primary School and one for our Secondary School — ensuring that students of all ages are empowered to contribute to school life in meaningful ways.

What is the Student Council?

The Student Council is a group of elected student representatives who come together to:

– Represent the ideas and concerns of their peers
– Organize school events, charity projects, and community-building activities
– Collaborate with teachers and school leaders on student-focused initiatives
– Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture

Primary and Secondary Councils

Our Primary Student Council introduces younger students to leadership, teamwork, and responsibility in a fun and age-appropriate way. Members gain confidence and learn how to share ideas, make decisions, and support school events that bring joy to their peers.

Our Secondary Student Council takes on more complex responsibilities, offering students the opportunity to develop stronger leadership, communication, and project management skills. They take an active role in shaping school policies, leading initiatives, and creating a supportive and engaging environment for all.

Leadership in Action

Student Council elections are held each year, allowing students to campaign, share their ideas, and vote — reinforcing the values of democracy and civic engagement.

Council members meet regularly and work closely with staff to ensure student perspectives are part of the conversation. From improving common areas to leading school-wide events, our Student Councils help make BBIA a place where everyone feels heard and involved.
