Student Council
Student voice, leadership and responsibility at every stage of school life.
At Budapest British International Academy, we believe that student voice matters at every stage of education. That’s why we proudly run two active Student Councils — one for our Primary School and one for our Secondary School — ensuring that students of all ages are empowered to contribute to school life in meaningful ways.
Student leadership at BBIA
From sharing ideas to leading whole-school initiatives, our Student Councils give young people a real say in how their school community grows and develops.
What is the Student Council?
The Student Council is a group of elected student representatives who come together to shape and support school life.
- Represent the ideas and concerns of their peers
- Organize school events, charity projects, and community-building activities
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders on student-focused initiatives
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture
Councillors are role models in their year groups, helping to build a culture where everyone feels listened to, respected, and included.
Student Council at the heart of BBIA
By giving students real responsibility and a meaningful voice, our Student Councils help shape a school community where every student can lead, contribute, and thrive.
Primary and Secondary Councils
Each Student Council is tailored to the age and needs of the students it serves, while sharing the same commitment to leadership and responsibility.
Primary Student Council
Our Primary Student Council introduces younger students to leadership, teamwork, and responsibility in a fun and age-appropriate way.
- Builds confidence in speaking and sharing ideas
- Encourages teamwork and cooperation
- Supports school events that bring joy to their peers
- Helps students understand how their actions impact the community
Secondary Student Council
Our Secondary Student Council takes on more complex responsibilities, offering students the opportunity to develop stronger leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Leads initiatives that shape school culture and policies
- Represents student perspectives in discussions with school leaders
- Organises larger events and projects with real impact
- Builds skills for future study, work, and civic engagement
